In General...
General Angels 2230 has been active since 2007 and is the official team of Handasaim High School, Herzliya.
One of our most important goals is to challenge ourselves to keep innovating with every season and every game,
To develop a progressive STEM thinking. This way, we make STEM an inseparable part of each of our team members’ lives
Our mission is to play an integral role within our city, instilling our values and STEM principles, as we aspire to harmonize with the high-tech industry and celebrate the technological world that surrounds us, promoting not only ourselves but also our environment."
A Bit of History
Originally, our team was called "Zecharia’s Angels." However, in 2009, when GENERAL MOTORS stepped in as our primary sponsor, offering us valuable resources and mentors, we decided to change our name to "GENERAL ANGELS". To this day, we maintain a deep and affectionate connection with GM.
Our team is the Parent Team of a FTC team: Quack Attack #11635 and 16 FLL teams with members of General Angels as their mentors.

About FIRST and our operations
FIRST, which stands for "For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology," holds the distinction of being the world's foremost youth service organization dedicated to the promotion of STEM education. Established by Dean Kamen in 1989.
The primary aim of this program is to introduce participating students to the captivating realms of STEM professions, ultimately shaping them into future science and technology leaders. It serves as a robust foundation for the realms of industry and high technology.
Our team actively competes in the flagship program of FIRST, known as the FRC. Here, high school students are tasked with designing, constructing, and competing with large-scale robots. FRC thrives on instilling values of teamwork, problem-solving, and achieving excellence in STEM, all leading to an exhilarating annual competition.
Each year, a new challenge is unveiled, allowing our team approximately six weeks to construct a highly sophisticated robot capable of executing intricate tasks. These tasks may include balancing on a ramp, launching balls, climbing, or even lifting other robots – a true testament to the team's engineering prowess!
The process of building these robots closely mirrors industry practices in the high-tech sector. It involves working with advanced machinery, meticulous planning and sketching, electrical systems, and intricate software.
Our team doesn't just construct robots; it also focuses on branding the group, devising a strategic plan, and procuring necessary resources independently.
In addition to the technological journey the team embarks on, the FIRST program and the General Angels group place a strong emphasis on community involvement. This is aimed at promoting STEM education and sharing their experiences with the wider community.
